Clark’s Fish Camp

If you are ever in Jacksonville, Florida, be sure to set your GPS to locate Clark's Fish Camp restaurant.  The food is excellent and the ambiance is "other-world."  Be prepared to wait an hour at prime time unless you have a VIP seating card.  In the main dining area are more stuffed animals than one is likely to see other than in a natural history museum. Over the … [Read More...]

Optimizing Dividend Stocks

Here is my optimization analysis on a 12-Dividend portfolio made up of individual stocks.  It might be interesting to look at a portfolio made up of 20 to 30 individual stocks. I like the 9.0 projected return and the high Return/Risk ratio.  A yield of 2.7% is also quite respectable. Retirement Mistake #5: Underestimating Life Expectancy

Not only are we living longer, but we are living healthier lives.  When planning for retirement, what age should one project as the end-of-life year?  When running out retirement projections using the Monte Carlo calculations within the Quantext Portfolio Planner software, I use 100 as the end-of-life year when testing the probability of running out of money.  There are many assumptions that go … [Read More...]

Ranking Critical ETFs

Now that I have the capability to work with more than 20 ETFs within the ranking worksheet, I made a list of the critical securities one might use to construct a portfolio.  There are three sector ETFs in this group and a special ranking of sector instruments will be conducted to determine which are part of this larger grouping. While the ranking is important, also pay attention to the … [Read More...]

The Feynman Portfolio Study

Lowell has invited me to author a series of posts on the ITA Wealth Management website that may be of interest to Platinum members interested in learning more about the practical application of some of the strategies, tactics and analysis tools that Lowell uses on the site and how these might be expected to perform under a variety of market conditions. I plan to do this by back testing the … [Read More...]
