Balanced Portfolio: Number 3

Portfolio number 3 in this series is what I call a Balanced Portfolio.  Bonds are lowered to 40% of the portfolio so this is still quite a conservative mix of assets.  This portfolio comes close to fitting the 60/40 equity to bond ratio, sort of a standard when it comes to building a middle of the road portfolio.  Note the changes that are taking place in the five key metrics.  … [Read More...]

Bachelor in Central Oregon If you need more evidence to support passive rather than active investing, here is another article on what is happening over on the Motley Fools web site.  In the 1990s, I was a regular reader of material on the Fools site. At the time is was the most popular investment web site to visit.  I devoured their popular book, "The Motley … [Read More...]

While the following portfolio is not exactly one of the eleven portfolios tracked here at ITA Wealth Management, there are many similar ingredients.  To create this portfolio I selected 26 ETFs that are frequently part of at least one ITA portfolio.  Familiar ETFs such as VTI, VEU, VWO, DVY, VTV, IWN, VOE, VOT, VNQ, RWX, etc. are among the 26 ETFs.  Nine (9) bond ETFs were in the group, but most … [Read More...]

A new portfolio, … [Read More...]

ITA Risk Reduction Model Positions

Investors following the ITA Risk Reduction model are currently in "neglect" mode.  This simply means we are not trading any commission free ETFs, but we are watching the price action of several key markets.  Let's focus on two REITs to illustrate this point.  In our portfolios we include both domestic (VNQ) and international (RWX) REITs.  In the following graph we … [Read More...]

Kenilworth Portfolio Review: 21 February 2012

While it is a few days early to update the Kenilworth Portfolio, based on the current ETF prices and their respective 195-Day EMAs, nothing is likely to happen over the next few weeks let alone the next three days.  Here is the link to the StockCharts graphs we use for the ITA Risk Reduction model.  The following two screen shots show the Dashboard and Portfolio Performance data for the … [Read More...]
